Hello and welcome to Hacoona Makata Maine Coons!
We are a small hobby breeder cattery located in the Northwest of England. We are a TICA registered cattery. Our cattery is FELV and FIV free. Certification evidence is available upon request when visiting.
All of our breeding Maine Coons are tested for the HCM gene and the presence of the Coronovirus (FCoV).

We chose our cattery prefix because as Disney and Lion King fans, we feel it reflects our passion by being a play on the phrase 'Hakuna Matata' which means 'no worries until the end of our days'!!
We purchased our first female Maine Coon 'Shelby' - our tortie tabby mackerel as a pet and became bitten by the Maine Coon Bug. We were warned that you couldn't just have one Maine Coon and it is true. 16 months on, several Maine Coons and a purpose built cattery later, we would agree. Our family will never be the same again.
All of our cats are kept indoors within the house or in a purpose built cattery we have outside. Our cattery is fully heated and has been fitted with lights that are left on in selected hour slots. A radio provides company for our cats along with with plenty of toys for them to play with when we are not there.
Their personality and character is second to none. They survey their territory with such confidence and self assuredness. Everything is definitely on their terms and our honorary pooch 'Alfie' knows his place. Our kittens are born downstairs in our kitten room until we feel they are mature and old enough to venture out into the rest of our house. They are integrated into a ‘busy’ family life once they are weaned from their mum.
All of our kittens are sold to indoor homes only. They will only be released to their new owners at around 16 weeks of age and when they are fully vaccinated and neutered. All new owners will be required to agree to and sign a Kitten Agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the purchase. As a new owner you will also be provided with a Kitten Pack which will include 4 weeks insurance,4 generation Pedigree,full Vaccination record,full Worming record,Litter and food,TICA and GCCF information and a selection of other goodies.
All kittens will be registered on the non active TICA litter register. Currently we do not sell kittens for breeding.
